Shanghai Metro Line 2 west west extension signal system, which was undertaken by SRC, formally put into revenue service yesterday. This project will bring much convenience for passengers from Shanghai downtown to Hongqiao International Airport, and thus guarantees the traffic situation for the World Expo.

 

After issuing the first service security certification of ATP (GLR – LYR) on Feb. 22, all staff of east extension/west west extension project group in SRC Metro Department continued to devote themselves to debugging the system. With more than 20 days’ hardworking, they finally overcame all the difficulties and completed system test on the early morning of Mar. 15th. Then service security certification of ATP (west west extension) was issued and a zero-passenger-load rehearsal was started. On Mar. 16, after one day’s practicing, the debugging work of Shanghai Metro Line 2 was completed successfully and formally put into revenue service.

 

The accomplishment of west west extension realizes one more crucial node goal in our project, which has built a solid foundation for the goal of next phase, i.e. Pudong International Airport node before Mar. 28. SRC team will make persistent efforts to guarantee completion of the project on time.
